Functions and Parties
Community Hall
Our Community Center Auditorium, large enough to accommodate 120 people, is most commonly used for weddings, receptions, parties, dances and reunions. As this space is a multi purpose room that serves a variety of groups, we require each and every group to be mindful of the group that may be using the space after them. Newspaper or plastic (not provided by the ELMMCC) must cover every table before any craft, cooking or generally messy activity. Cleaning aids are provided by the ELMMCC and stored in the cupboard above the kitchen sink. To keep cost of these materials low, we appreciate you using them conservatively. The reduced rental rate effective January 1, 2007 is $140.00. The fee includes the use of the kitchen facility, the removal of garbage, the sweeping and mopping of the floors. Per the rental agreement, the rental party is required to wash the tables, place garbage in the receptacles and is responsible for any damages that may occur during their event.Community Room/Ruth Coffin Room
Our Ruth Coffin Room, in the Community House, is a room more commonly used for the lighter functions. Business meetings, social and civic group’s gatherings are often held in this space. Readily available in the Ruth Coffin Room are 5 tables, 40 chairs and a kitchenette giving users the ability to provide refreshments and comfort to 40 or less people. The current rental rate for this space is $50.00 per use.Upstairs Meeting Room
The Second Floor:
We invite Winchester and Ashuelot residents to meet in the second floor spaces in our Community House. Please call the office to check the availability of these spaces. Space is provided for free of charge during our open hours. Current open hours are Mon.& Fri., 11:30 -5pm and Tues.-Thurs. 9am-5 pm
This 15’x18’ space provides seating for 15-20 people.Mind, Body Spirit Room
Mind, Body & Spirit Room:
Freshly painted and newly carpeted this 15’x 18’ space is currently used for T’ai Chi and yoga twice a week. This space was created with the physical and mental wellness in mind. T’ai Chi, Yoga, Reiki, massage or just a “time out” from the busy lives we lead, please enjoy this quiet space free of furniture.Bowling Alley
The ELMMCC Bowling Alley:
The ELMMCC 4 lane Candlepin Bowling Alley is available for rent Monday through Saturday. The current rental rate is $125.00 for 4 hours. Fee includes the use of the kitchen, clean up and bowling alley attendant.
Social, Civic and Not for profit agencies
Non profit organizations / Civic Groups / Social Clubs / Youth Groups:
The E.L.M. Memorial Community Center Hall and Ruth Coffin Room are available for rent for many different occasions. This is a center for the purpose and use of our community. As a community, we must work together to minimize costs for this organization.
We cannot accommodate each group with their own storage space. Any items left behind will be considered a donation and made available to other groups who use the center. Any group can use the refrigerator and/or freezer during their function provided there is space. Any food not belonging to the E.L.M.M.C.C. or an employee will be thrown away. The E.L.M.M.C.C. reserves the right to use its facility for storage.
The Ellen Lambert Murphy Memorial Association invites Winchester and Ashuelot’s not for profit agencies, social or civic groups and/or clubs to use the RC Room or the meeting spaces in the Community House for their monthly, weekly and/or annual business/club meetings for a reduced rate of $25.00 per use of space, Sunday-Thursday. This minimal fee helps to cover the cost of custodial staff and cleaning, heat and electricity and other necessary supplies like toilet paper, hand soap, garbage bags and garbage removal. As many groups have evening meetings, with no E.L.M.M.C.C. staff present, it is the responsibility of your group using the space to be sure that they leave no food out that will attract rodents and the space is locked when they leave.
The non-profit and club discounts do not apply if your group or organization is
1. Holding a benefit fundraiser
2. Buying, selling or enjoying the consumption of alcohol or
3. Have an event scheduled on a Friday or Saturday night in the E.L.M.M.C. Auditorium.
The E.L.M.M.C.C. is a not for profit agency. Revenues collected from rental spaces, flea markets, bowling alley fees and program registration fees help to subsidize the costs of heat, electricity, hot water, staff and supplies. The E.L.M.M.C.C. reserves the right to hold our spaces for rental opportunities
